Whether you’re brand new to yoga or you’ve held a practice for years, 747Fitness offers yoga classes designed to build flexibility, strength and mental clarity in a supportive, judgement-free environment.
Our classes welcome complete beginners. You don’t need to be flexible to start — flexibility is what you gain, not what you bring. Instructors offer modifications for every posture so you can work at a level that challenges you without straining.
Every class blends physical postures with breath work and a period of stillness or guided meditation. This combination is what makes yoga so effective for stress: you leave the mat with a body that has moved well and a mind that has genuinely switched off.
Yoga is one of the best recovery tools available if you lift, box or run. Restoring range of motion through the hips, thoracic spine and shoulders directly improves your squat depth, punching mechanics and running stride, while lowering your injury risk.
The breathing techniques taught in class are useful long after you roll up the mat — steadier breathing under stress helps in hard training sessions, in the workplace and in getting to sleep at night.
Not at all — flexibility is the result of practising yoga, not a prerequisite. Every posture has modifications, and beginners are given easier variations until their range of motion improves.
Comfortable clothing you can move in and a water bottle. Mats and props are provided at our Dandenong studio, though you’re welcome to bring your own mat if you prefer.
One to two classes a week is enough to notice improvements in flexibility, posture and stress levels within a month. Three or more sessions a week produces faster changes in strength and mobility.
Yoga supports weight loss by building lean muscle, improving movement quality and reducing stress-driven eating. It works best combined with strength training or higher-intensity classes for a bigger overall energy burn.
Absolutely. Plenty of men train yoga with us, particularly lifters and boxers using it to improve mobility and recovery. Our classes are mixed and open to everyone.
In most cases yes — yoga is often recommended for back health. Let your instructor know before class so they can offer safe modifications, and clear any serious or recent injury with your doctor or physiotherapist first.
Yoga combines postures, breath work and meditation with an emphasis on flexibility and mental calm. Pilates focuses more narrowly on core control, alignment and precise, repeated movements. Many members do both.
